Post Approval
Ensuring content on the group feed hits the mark is really important for maintaining the culture of the YesTribe. Admins are responsible for approving posts from members and this is a crucial filter.
As you’ll have seen from the guides about setting up your Regional Tribe, each member will have agreed to the group rules when applying, and these give you a framework to work within when approving posts.
The YesTribe is not a home for politics, bad language and abuse of any kind, and we also steer clear of other divisive subjects which are likely to spark less-than-positive emotions. While free speech is to be encouraged, there are other parts of the internet where people can freely argue about things. The YesTribe is a platform for support and encouragement, so be mindful of what subjects you let through.
The angriest post on the main YesTribe in 2019 was a thread about veganism. We may be adding ‘no diet posts!’ to the rules :)
Promotions and ads
We see the regional groups as being a little different from the central YesTribe group, which is very much a discussion forum (which we see being used by YesTribers from around the world) where we ban any promotional posts, sales, adverts, and anything that involves money or potential advertising.
We know that regional tribes will have fewer members and that regional opportunities, even those which involve a fee, may be interesting to regional tribe members.
With this in mind, we’re happy to rely on your judgement as a tribe leader. Several regional tribes allow all members to post (which saves you the job of approving all posts) but then the leader is still able to moderate and delete any posts which they feel don’t represent the values of the YesTribe. If this happens, you’re backed up by the group rules (above) which each new member is required to agree to.
